Color Club Revvvolution + Nubar 2010

Tried this layering combination of a little charcoal holo polish and my newly acquired flakie sheer base polish.

As you can see, the flakies glow predominantly green and orange. Reminds me a little of the patterns on watermelons :P This colour scheme is pretty Halloween-y right? 

Interesting combination but I get bored of this after a while... :/

You can get Linnea from The Make Up Store ( a Swedish brand) instead of Nubar 2010. Or Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure in Hidden Treasure. And Watsons in Singapore has now Sally Hansen's Complete Manicure series stocked! However, colours are limited due to how the shelves are being packed right now... :( 

Mini Experiment with Color Club's Covered in Diamonds + Nubar 2010

I have always liked layering for my nail polishes. And boy, was I excited to receive Nubar 2010 in a swap and also bought myself Color Club's Covered in Diamonds in a spree.

Before I show you the photos proper, let me give you my thoughts on both of them.

Some might think that these two are essentially the same, ie you need one, not both. I disagree. Covered in Diamonds is made up of those iridescent flakes of plastic you see in ornaments around Christmas time. And they do poke out of your nail and create a gritty surface when dry. Seche Vite or a good thick topcoat is a must to smoothen it out.

Nubar 2010 on the other hand, is a flakie polish that is not made from plastic. Most likely it is from fish scales. (Not vegan). It is smooth to apply, might poke out of your nail but nothing a little wrap can do. Is not as gunky as Covered in Diamonds, as after a few uses the polish thickened a lot and makes spreading the plastic bits around quite difficult.

Both are equally stunning on their own layered over a dark colour. But here, I layer them on each other over a dark colour.

Look at the third finger from the left. It seems too concentrated in the middle here. Thats what I meant by hard to maneuver it around...

Nubar 2010 seems more evident here. 

This is because I used it all over Covered in Diamonds. The previous one you saw was Nubar 2010 layered over the dark green creme.

I prefer this one. Very magical :)

Love this! Although I own all of Orly's Cosmix FX in which there seems to be a dupe :P

Looked at swatches but I shall convince myself that it is still different :P

I also love myself some accessories :) Here are my recent ones bought on a sale and some in school. (Yes there are some makeshift stores set up in school, I wonder if Im really there for an education :P)

My first connector ring :D Looked at many Forever21 ones, but none realllllyyy caught my eye. and this is pretty cheap at SGD10!

Loving this ring as well, pale gold and silver with some rhinestones :D only SGD15! 

These are the sale items from the recent m)phosis sale! :D It's a local brand that has some pretty pricey clothes but with very nice, minimal, simplistic styles and colors :D 

Their accessories range from SGD6.60 to a ring to about 32.90 for an elaborate bracelet. 

The loot here costs me about SGD32.90! All at half price!

The first bracelet at the top needed my sewing skills as the rhinestones chain were a little heavy for the black fabric. Nothing too complicated anyways :)

Xmas Manicure #10: OPI The Show Must Go On (of course!)

Lasted me 4 days, no joke! Stayed on pretty well! 

Color Club Wild and Willing over Wet n' Wild Black Creme + Color Club Magic Attraction on little hands :)

Shines wildly in the bright midday sun. Not captured in these spam. Almost a dupe to Orly's Space Cadet. There's purple, pink, green, gold and orange in this layering effort. A coat of Seche hides all bubbling and imperfections :P

2 coats of Magic Attraction :) for a 8 year old cousin :)

Somehow, it peels off her nails after a day or two. Im wondering if its the body chemistry rather than my normal basecoat + CC + topcoat routine... hmm. Gotta do this on me soon.

 Accurate colour is between both shades :) lovely green shimmer in the sun :) very slight green shimmer... 

Application is fantastic. One coat was streaky but 2nd made it perfect :) 

With Seche Vite for added gloss... 

Retro Color Club find! :D 2 attempts!

This one sat in my untrieds for a longgg time. I was in a hurry to snatch this off the shelves when I happened to come across it one day while shopping (waiting for my bf to get off work). It came with a Cuticle Away (Remover) and a iridescent glitter polish. All for just 10 SGD! :D 

I was aware that it was the old Color Club bottle and formula but heck, how often do i even see Color Club sold in Singapore!?!? 

I thought this one was a duochrome. A faint one. But is it? Find out ;)

Layered 2 coats of OPI Wing It! but of course, the texture remained... :P

I was then out with the bf to get some shoes for gym and while trying them on, the polish smudged! lol. removed it immediately when we got home! ROAR.

So, a soft duochrome, yes??? :D

I used: OPI Curry Up! Dont be late and City Girl's gold as well. For the thumb and little finger I used L.A Girls Live on Stage and also Winmax pedicure in gold hexagon and round glitter! I love the overall look, seems to belong in a set eh? I think Im improving a little hehe.

But for the right hand :/

Looks horrendous! lol. not so bad in real life as the colours seem to blend in a little bit more. The base is Kitoko Kalani's 1243e, a pale peach colour with gold shimmer and topped with L.A Girl's Electric Guitar. Ugh. :(

L.A Girls Rockstar glitters are awesome for layering :) and the base colours arent so unique so it is easier to find colours to layer over!

I am glad for the Daiso Winmax find :) For a cheap 2SGD, the gold hex and round glitter is bright and loud! Great for accents. Many glitter in just one stroke. The brush picks up the glitter in the bottle easily too :)

OPI is sheer! Much sheerer than the City Girl's gold. A local drugstore brand. A cheap 2.50SGD polish, if I am not mistaken. Both are not super brush strokey. The shine is pretty :)

Very fall :) As the bottles are shaped like a jewel with 8 panels to them, the colours dont really show well. In the bottle, Planet Chocolate seems more red while Galaxy seems more dusty purple...
These nail wheel swatches are taken in bright sunlight! The shimmers are lovely... No topcoat.

High Society has a definite lavender tone to it. While Chinchilly is more true grey. Both are with brown undertones I would say.
