ancient NOTD: mod look

Wow. I have been doing so many filler posts this past 3 months, ever since I blogged a long one about VIBE lacquer store opening. That's in April. It is July now...

I am gonna catch up with the pictures and my own happenings. Bear with me!

This is a really lovely look I created with three polishes and my trusty cheap Daiso black nail art liner.
OPI Pretty at the Premiere (lovely, shimmer red, applies well!)
Nature Republic's blackened silver foil polish
Color Club's Revvvvolution! black holographic polish

Done somewhere end of April cuz I wore it when I turned in my thesis for my Bachelor of Social Science- Sociology. Heh. Didnt do well for the paper but I am finally graduating! My ceremony is at the end of this month!

Love the play of 'textures' in the polishes I've used, although my execution could have been much more precise and neat :) Might try this design again soon!

Do you like it?

p.s Aishah I have emailed you back cuz I didnt get your email! LOL confusing eh? :/

Mei Mei Signature's Crackle Polishes - Review

You must have heard and gone ga-ga over this season's crackle polishes. OPI and China Glaze have jumped on the wagon and enticed all polish lovers out there with their crackles. Loving how those bottles look as well :)

I have 3 bottles of crackle to show all of you here today, one of them the Black crackle and 2 others are shimmery burgundy and ash brown.

Mei Mei Signature's is the name of the brand and the owner is Mei Mei :)

This is the burgundy over Zoya's Harley.
I have to top it with a top coat, I used Seche Vite, on order for the shimmer to be seen :)

Application is fuss-free. The polish is pretty watery compared to the normal kinds, so layer it on your DRIED manicure quick and watch the crackle in action. Pretty fun, actually.
I showed my daddy and he was pretty amused :P

This one is to show the black crackle. It dries matte and I added topcoat for a glossy shine.
It was done in a rush.
If you see the blue layer, it's from another kind of crackle that I owned...

I did a fatal mistake by applying quick dry topcoat on the crackle, forcing the gaps to minimize further, looking like... hairline cracks :/ UGLY!

This is the ash brown crackle. There is also a very pretty shimmer that I might not have captured well.
Half the nail is without topcoat hence the suede/matte feel.

This could be clearer :) Tried on a glitter base. You can see that the edges of the crackle are messier.

Here's all three on my swatch nail wheel.

I also tried a manicure with the burgundy one. It is hard to capture glitters in photos so imagine them looking glossy and shiny :)

The crackles retail at SGD15 a piece on http://meimeisignatures.com/

There are more colours to choose from!
They are all big-3 free! Hooray for that ;)

She has also shown how the crackle effect can be more varied if you apply it a zig-zag motion!

Xmas Manicure #8: Special Edition! Tron inspired nails!

Are you able to spot the N in TRON on my nails? :)
Thought the movie was cool so I did my nails based on the movie's colours  :D
Used Daiso Black Stripper Brush and Elianto's neon orange colour and THE FACESHOP's pastel blue :)

Color Club Wild and Willing over Wet n' Wild Black Creme + Color Club Magic Attraction on little hands :)

Shines wildly in the bright midday sun. Not captured in these spam. Almost a dupe to Orly's Space Cadet. There's purple, pink, green, gold and orange in this layering effort. A coat of Seche hides all bubbling and imperfections :P

2 coats of Magic Attraction :) for a 8 year old cousin :)
Somehow, it peels off her nails after a day or two. Im wondering if its the body chemistry rather than my normal basecoat + CC + topcoat routine... hmm. Gotta do this on me soon.

Holo skittles which means a comparison :D

I did a holo skittles cuz I wanted to break in all my Daiso holo polishes at one go!
Red holo :) no. 7

From bottom up:
Black/charcoal holo no. 10
Green holo - From Beauty Credit GN06
Blue holo: no. 9
Silver with some iridescent shimmer with holo: no. 8

China Glaze GR8,  a gold holo, least scattered holo!

From left:
Purple holo: no. 4
Pink holo: no. 3
Beige/orange holo: no. 6
Darker orange holo?: no. 1

As you can tell, Im lacking 2 more Daiso holos :) Havent had the patience to remember the numbers im lacking :P

My mother and sister loved some of them and had me do a mani or two for them with these! :D
What do you think of these?

Daiso holos costs 2SGD for about 5ml, a little pricey but the effect is really not too bad! Granted, it is more scattered holo. Even Beauty Credit has a tad more rainbowy effect in the sun, but Daiso holos apply without streakiness! 2 coats are good. If too thick, due to people testing them in stores, some thinner will do the trick!

Love these!

Long overdueeeeee~ + NAIL MAIL!

The legendary lazy-ass in my house, after me, of course!

Used 2 kinds of purple here: one by Nature Republic, one by China Glaze First Class Ticket (ring finger) + rhinestones
Close up of the Nature Republic's colour. Pardon the bubbling :( took me 3 coats as polish was rather sheer.A little frosty finish to it, but also metallic. Hmmm.
The right hand: 2 kinds of blue: one by The Face Shop, one by Orly La Playa (ring finger) + rhinestones
The blue by TFS has pink and purple sparkles, very pretty...
As seen in this pic :D
Now for some red jelly :) 2nd attempt with Elianto's Grape Vine! Loved it this time round. Squishy jelly indeed and dries so glossy, no topcoat needed! The middle finger had more polish on, hence a darker red...
A right hand design with a mega crystal on it LOL.
VNL. But doesnt bother me! Under OTT light and artificial lighting, looks vampy ;) but in the sun, looks like a pin-up red! <3
Left hand: Added Lubu Heels by China Glaze to my index finger in a V shape... added Orly Red Carpet on ring finger... and added Golden Rose Care + Strong red glitter on middle...
Trying out how the glitter works on this as a base :)
Bottle shot :)

Orange with golden shimmer (almost glass flecky) with hand drawn leopard prints lol.
Loved ChG's Orange Marmalade, and this is my closest version to it, so I am not getting that! *phew*

Added some glittery orange polish by Caerphilly over it. Bad idea. :(
My right hand looks better :) did the glittery before the leopard prints :) but looks a little un-leopardy LOL.
I've got mail!!! :D From USA! wheee
Goodies I won from Kimberly's Vampy Giveaway on her blog :)
 She threw in delicious goodies!!!
And make up items too! oh my!
my mum was so excited about it she swatched some on her hand lol before I could unwrap my polishes lol... :D
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH. I WISHED IT WAS SOLD IN SINGAPORE!!!!! :'(
Thank You Kimberly for this awesome package!! :)

Mid autumn Festival Mani!

Last Wednesday was Mid-Autumn Festival :) It was fun as I sat in a swing since a million years ago! It was fun and carefree :)
Close up view: Love how it twinkles holgram glitter/specks, green and blue... and then the golden hex glitter like stars. Looks better in real life as you view them with your naked eye.

Polishes used: Etude House High Heel Pedicure: Black jelly with hologram glitter of diff sizes, CLATTY black jelly with hologram glitter (small), layered with Elianto Opal Shine, and then with Daiso Pedicure golden hex glitter of various sizes in clear polish.

The moon finger: I used China Glaze OMG- Gr8 and Elianto's Yellow. Bah, i was lazy to use my new dotting tool so its not a round moon :P

Topped with Seche Vite to give a good glossy smooth finish :)
