Etude House new (to me) glitters!

I am showing you two Etude House glitters I have picked up over the last month. They are a Pink PK021 and a Blue glitter BL019. They cost me 11.90SGD each.

I use them to layer over similar colours.

On the left is a green creme layered with BL019.
Beside it is a finger in a red creme layered with PK021.
The last finger here is in SpaRitual Break of Dawn.

This is PK021 upclose. It has silver, pink, blue and hexagon glitter all in different sizes suspended in a magenta pink jelly base. One coat is great to layer over any polish for more pizzazz. :)

This is one coat of BL019 over a dark green creme. It has various sizes of blue, silver hexagon and hold glitter suspended in a blue base. A base much like the colour of OPI Absolutely Alice blue.

Which one do you prefer?

I love both as much, they are pretty special glitters and their jellyish base makes for good building up and also allow the glitter to have more depth on my nails :)

Look at the blue...

And the pink...

Please click to enlarge the view. They are gorgeoussss.... :)

Finger swatching: SpaRitual Break of Dawn

One of them is Break of Dawn while the other two fingers have a SpaRitual base colour with Etude House glitters layered over.
This is a close up shot of the shimmer Break of Dawn in SpaRitual's TWINKLE collection for the Fall holidays this year.
I see gold, purple, red, pink, orange...
It is indeed very sparkly under the sun and absolutely gorgeous. I havent been able to find any lacquer as close to this. What is more, this is completey vegan so the shimmer particles are made from mica rather than from animal derived sources :)
This is the pre-cleanup photo :P
I only have this shade for swatching from TWINKLE so far. Am planning to get more!
Which ones would you like to see up close like this?

I will post about the other two finger swatches next!

Giveaway Polish! Etude House dark green surprise~

Have you entered my giveaway yet? I'll be closing it at the end of May when I return from Taiwan :)
Here is one gorgeous polish I am giving away (I swatched my own bottle):
These are two coats or one thick coat :P
When the light hits it directly, it looks like a squishy forest green colour.
What do you see?
Yes golden shimmer! Hidden in the dark green jelly/creme. I cant decide cuz if you do one more coat it will be opaque like a creme I suppose...

Excited much?
Application was a breeze, did not clean up for these photos, the brush is great to work with! :)

Comment in this post to join in the giveaway! :D

my Valentine's Day nails :D

This is super backdated, but worth a look, huh? :P

For the hearts, I used Etude House's petit polish that has colourful hearts floating in a murky, base with silver glitter... and I used a few blues layered over for the base. Used Daiso's white nail art brush to do the clouds :)

I like this look over the various pinks and reds. Guess I wasnt feeling for those colours since it was also Lunar New Year :D

peek-a-boo: I have some pretty special announcements to make soon plus some haul posts that make me swear I'd never step into a shop again. :D

fighting the blues! - old NOTD

It was my first day back in school for the last Semester of my educational career. *ahem*
I was excited for my lesson actually, it's an Art history module :) So I painted my hands with 2 blues :)

The differences are prety visible. But I love both of them equally!
The first blue is Etude House's Petit Darling Nails in BL504, a darker shade of robin blue with light blue shimmer (glass flecky shimmer). Looks creamy with an edge. U get me? :D

And the other is Orly's Lunar Eclipse :) It has a nice slight duochrome, showing the purple shimmer against the vibrant blue :) Very bright shade that chases the blues!

It was a sunny day, a rare one as it had been raining for days some weeks back! I was taking photos of my nails while walking in school, alone. Bet someone thought I was insane. anywho! :)

Love them! Application was flawless to me! 2 coats for Etude House, it was on the thick side (consistency). Orly was sheer so about 3 coats was sufficient :)

Xmas Manicure #2: Pur-posely Poised (?!)

Haha! What an attempt to come up with a name for this manicure :P

The little hand on the left is my cousin's hand! Haha, they follow me around the house so much I tell ya, it's kinda impossible to study (for my exams) these days!

Purple Base: Zoya Demi
My first Zoya I tried, I got this in a blog sale for quite a bit of money but totally no regrets! Look at how gorgeous this is! Dries darker than the bottle colour. 2 coats to buttery perfection!
Glitters: Etude House LUCIDarling nails- Purple glitter with hexagon and star sequins
Etude House Dear Darling Nails no. 31 purple glitter suspended in clear base.
The latter provides great coverage! I did 2 coats on my right thumb for base instead of using Zoya. Then one coat of LUCIDarling nails for more sparkly.

Seche Vite needed to prevent grittiness :D

Here's Stompy looking at ya!
We're bringing him to the vet tomorrow, for a checkup on his wet nose and mites. Poor baby, but he will be alright! :D

Xmas Manicure #1 : Sliver Wonderland

Etude House: Grey with blue base with silver shimmer/flecks of irregular size
Beauty Credit: Glittery Silver with gritty-ness
Nature Republic: Chrome Silver (blue tinge)

Without Beauty Credit's Silver Glitter, hence a really nice chrome look. Application for Nature Republic's chrome needed to be a little careful, brushstrokes can be visible, best to load brush with sufficient polish for one coat.

Taken after 3 days of wear. Pretty solid I must say. As usual with Seche Vite on top.
Jewels stayed on pretty well too... Pictures taken in natural light!

//* thank you all for the comments in my last post :) Glad to hear positive remarks! Am still trying to be perfectly straight with my lines, the tip to move the finger and not the brush helps! ;)
Am glad i gave Ole another chance. The first time I used it as a mani i thought it was streaky as hell! I just had to give it some time to settle and all is well :D

//* Cheryl from Legally Polished has tagged me in an award :D A Spanish one too! I have taken Spanish before and love it!

1. Why did you create the blog?
I really wanted to be part of the community and share my love for nail polish after lurking around in the dark posting comments on blog posts LOL
2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
A few local Singaporean blogs, mainly nail and some beauty blogs too..
3. Do you have a favorite make-up brand?
No, am new to makeup and also still an undergrad, so I dont exactly have much spare cash for makeup after my nail obsession! HAHA.. I love nude lipsticks and eyeliners... hmm.
4. And a favorite clothing brand?
No, I am not picky on brands for clothes, just as long as they fit my style :)

Hugo Boss' cologne that my bf wears lol. As for me, it's a tie between Lychee Blossom from The Body Shop and DKNY's delicious  (red and green).. HAHA
8. What's the film you liked the most?
Hard to answer! Just watched Rapunzel, it's really nice. I like Megamind too for the wit, Despicable Me was fun too! HAHA i am easy on films. Just do not like HP series and LOTR... i like Star Wars and Terminator Series and Bourne series too LOL (end rambling)
9. What countries would you like to go?

Stardusted nails part 2

long awaited sequel :P
really sparkly in the sun due to the Pink Topaz number from Etude House LUCIDarling nails collection i added all over the nail.
mixure of LA Girls Rockstar lacquers, Double Platinum for the holo glitter, Live on Stage for the tips, and also some Ottie Oriental Glitter :)

looks very much better in natural light... kinda regretted layering the Pink Topaz on, made it a tad too blingy :( but overall, understated bling ;) loved it!

Borghese Stellare Notte vs Etude House WH004

Essentially, both have the green/purple duochrome. But...
Stellare Notte is duochrome in shimmer style. With a teal base, not a black one...
Added one coat of CND Jade Sparkle. On another nail, added a red and silver glitter in red jelly base and also another coat of iridescent glitter :)
Added iridescent glitter over CND Jade Sparkle. lol.
Yep, OPI Show it and Glow it! Over Stellare Notte...

WH004 is duochrome in glass flecks style, with the green/purple in flecks suspended in a black base.
Tip pull by Seche Vite. *shakes head*
Love both! :)

I got Stellare Notte from the Vampy Giveaway prize on Libby's blog!

What are your thoughts?

*both are hard to photograph properly and WH004 looks black most of the time! Stellare Notte is much better ;)
