Time flies... am I looking forward to 2011?

Wow, 2010 has been pretty eventful.
Did not start out on a great note when I found out that an acquaintance had passed away... Morbid thoughts sink in, naturally. And now that i'm 22, funerals and weddings are plausible events...
Went for a Primary School friend's wedding in Jakarta this May too, with 2 other close friends. It was great fun, dressing up and trying to look good...

It was a rare chance to get out of the country too... :)
I started this blog in April, some days after my 22nd birthday.. and look where I am now! I derive great pleasure sharing my manis and having plentiful of encouragement from everywhere. And I learn more too :) Felt more focus and purposeful since I started blogging...

This year I also bought quite a few Mandopop and Cantopop Concert DVDs. I love music a lot. A pity I can read scores or have natural talent on instruments lol. But I love listening to music. Everywhere I go, and recently, whatever Im doing! ;P

My purchases also included an increase (exponential, mind you) of nail polishes!!! I have just gotten a Helmer, courtesy of my parents of course, and have filled 3 and a half shelves of them. Just polishes, treatments, Seche Vites etc and tools are elsewhere! Pretty impressive huh!!

I am also more interested in makeup this year and skincare. I have to start looking my age instead of looking older than my elder sister! >.< I get that tooooo much. Not helping that my bf who is a decade older, looks much younger than me! >.< Started using toners again and it helped shrink my enlarged pores. For one, I love to scrutinize the flecks of *eeew* on Biore/mud nose packs hehehehe after I pulled them off my nose! :D heh!

I am also weening myself off The Bodyshop addiction! Looking more to their skincare now and stopped myself from getting more showergels. I have enough to last me till they expire in 2013! >.<

I have also been on a roll this year, winning 3 giveaways here and more in local giveaways. *wow* time to give back the love in 2011!! :D

Studies wise, things have been good, Im still in the groove... just that I have to buck up and get my Final Year Project going... *sulks*

Been losing some steam and focus lately, and everyday is kinda a torture of sorts. Motivating myself aint easy,  but I gotta start somewhere. Cutting down tasks to step-by-step chunks are gonna be helpful!!

Comparing 2009 and 2010, I have moved on a lot. From destructive relationships and people whom I now realise their true nature... I am proud to be where I am today. Funny thing is how so many of my friends have been commenting on how blissful I look in photos and asking whether bells are ringingggg.... :/

I have loads to learn, long way to go. I have been giving hell to my bf, to be brutally honest. And he has been the sweetest one ever, to me. Always. Without fail. If not, it's accidental. I am blessed. :) And so, I gotta buck up and be responsible towards him and us...

Wow, it's a big year for me. I am graduating in 7 months and then, maybe take a trip elsewhere to see the world in its state and then get to work. A routine may be good for me... I can only hope I meet great people and be disciplined myself!

I am also planning to take up a Diploma and be a certified nail technician... :) And venture to have a home salon for days Im off work and all geared up to prettify others' nails ;P

Most importantly, I hope to be around for people who need me, even Stompy. He is getting no younger and often I get nightmares that I wake up to find him motionless... Such a day will arrive, but till then, he's my awesome rabbit! Dont think I'll have another...

It is finally time to grow up, Jamie. and taking care of myself, inside and out.

On a lighter note, I have done my NYE mani and pedi! Looking bling-tastic! But I dont really have made any confirmed plans with bf though... But i'll be rocking them anyways! :P

Let me know what you have done! ;)

See ya 1st Jan 2011, have a safe and euphoric celebration!

Xmas Manicure #9: Butterscotch Sparkle feat. MISA Hot Butterscotch

with a splash of Caerphilly's orange glitter.
Hot Butterscotch has very nice subtle golden shimmer on the burnt orange colour. But I felt the colour does not look so flattering on me. This is going to my purge stash.
Yes, I am setting up a purge stash! Im hoarding many items.. tsk.

One more final Xmas Manicure for 2010 awaits!

Xmas Manicure #7: Christmas for Blue~

Inspiration? Snowscapes...

Taken after 2 days of wear. Holds pretty well. Used: Nature Republic's metallic blue polish for the base, sponged Eleanor's gold mixed with CLATTY's shimmer baby blue and then used CLATTY's darker shimmer blue for tips (pretty sheer). Added blue rhinestones.
Sealed with Seche Vite.

I love this one a lot! Sponging was pretty fun too! Simple quick n fun! <3

Xmas Manicure #6: Candy Wonderland!

A really simple and cheery looking manicure that I did with:
1) The Skinfood Pedicure Sparkle in #11
2) added a coat of Elianto Shine Opal (for a very slight blue tint)
3) sugar coating ladybug glitter by doodlebug design inc., sprinkled on the tips
and then manually placing
4) some hex iridescent (red/green) and 5) crystal rhinestones :)

Sealed them in with Seche Vite that turned the glitters more orange than red :)

Hope you like this one! It is very sparkly in the sun, I love it!

Xmas Manicure #5: Naughty or Nice?

A pair oh hands, mixing and matching looks for this Christmas! :)

Right thumb: China Glaze's Emerald Sparkle :)
Other fingers: China Glaze's Lubu Heels (Not Ruby Pumps! :( im so sorry for the mistake!!)
Deadly sexy isnt it?
Applied watery at first, until it dried to a nice black with 2 coats and then I saw the beauty of the red glitter embedded in velvet darkness... Naughty..

Thumb: Wet n' Wild Craze in Morbid
Awesome vampy dark green, blackened on edges...
Other fingers: Ottie's Glam Crimson
What an apt name! you will find out later why... the flash makes the red much brighter... :)

Matching mani with my bouquet's ribbons LOL

I have to show you the pretty holo glitter scattered in the red polish!!!! <3

One more of Lubu Heels :)

Just a note: Im open to swaps and if any Asian brands interest you, do drop me a note at for a swap or something! <3

Quick one. The case of the missing basecoat..

Hi all, I have been heavily disturbed tonight!

A few days back, I posted on my Facebook with regards to my missing Nature Republic basecoat. Loved the brush that flares out a little such that my wide nails can be covered in 2 strokes, and that it prevented me from a lot of green staining! So I had break out my reserves, which happen to be The FaceShop's basecoats. They tend to dry out near the end of the bottle and become super lumpy! So I though i should try another brand's.

So... I even asked my sister if I left it in her room while doing her nails or something... But no. So i searched my room once more. And nope.

So I told my mum about it and she suggested if my cousin, who has been living in my room since the start of this month, has taken it... Well, she's 8 and she loves my nails and nail polish too, I realised. So yea, we searched her bag for a while (she's staying in another cousin's place for the night) and I found a bottle of green liquid in a plastic bottle. I thought could this be some gas-sy drink that she didnt throw out? So I took a whiff and the pungent smell of MY polish remover CHOKED me. I was furious!

No wonder I felt my BIG bottle of remover to be depleting so soon! I just got it 2 weeks ago? It was pungent than usual and I had to use it cuz I bought it. And she had to secretly transfer like almost 100ml into her bottle?! If she needed the remover, she could have asked. And I would teach and show her the proper way to use it! Plus, once she gets back to her place, there will be like 6 other kids around the house. Who knows who might open and drink it or spill it all over?!? The danger of her and the others with this unlabelled bottle of remover just upsets me.

I had already told her some days back that if I am not around, do not ever touch my nail polish remover or other bottles in my room. These have harmful chemicals and not good for young children! So, my words went to waste! I am more disappointed than anything else. I trusted her to be mature about it. Oh well, she is a kid alright....

So my mum said she will handle this matter and hopefully my basecoat can be recovered.

There's more to this story and more feelings I have yet to explicate. I am feeling much better now and just hope that she learns from this.

Me? I think i'm gonna invest in a big locker to house my precious... I hope you understand :(

I also had my first paper today. It was.. alright. I have 2 more papers to the end of my examinations! Cant wait!

And I am also expecting more packages to arrive from now till end of this year! :) Haulage posts will be done up real soon!

Thanks for sticking with me :) <3

I would like to take this opportunity to invite any one of you to leave ur blog link in the comments so that I can visit and follow you too :)
